So the Little Engine thought she could………how does that matter to me?

A couple of years ago, I brought “The Little Engine That Could” into my company’s weekly sales meeting.  They looked at me like I was crazy.

Much like most of you probably are right now.

The first question was, “Yeah, but so what?  How does it really work in the real world?  You know, that place where we sell to adults, not 6-year olds?”

Here’s how.

As I stated in the last post, you can’t sell even one product without BELIEF.  Belief in ourselves, our product/service, and our company.  We can get by with just a little belief in each.  Or maybe we believe our product is great, but the company is terrible.  And who among us is completely sure of him or her self?  But it’s OK………we’ll get by.

But we don’t want to get by.  You wouldn’t be here if you didn’t want to be great.  And great comes from total belief.  And that’s what the story is about - creating a thought track that leads to total belief.
